The difference in maturity levels between a 6th and 8th grader, and a 9th and 12th grader, is vast. In a desire to better serve all campers, we are pursuing the creation of a youth camp specific to 8th and 9th graders. The Timbers will exist to serve 8th and 9th graders, making the Ranch specific to 6th and 7th graders and the Shores to 10th through 12th graders. We feel confident that with the addition of this camp we will be better equipped to invest in each camper by addressing issues specific to their age.
We have raised the funds for Phase I in the Timbers construction.
Today, we have completed four fully functioning quad-plexes
(PDF 42kb) serving up to 128 campers per week. The
Timbers is currently being used as additional housing for Ranch
campers. We have cleared the land, and are eager to continue construction
on this new camp! Once completed, it will be fully self-sufficient
with a worship center, an open-air pavilion, a dining hall, and
many other facilities. The addition of 5 more quad-plexes will give
us the ability to serve 140 additional 8th and 9th graders each
week! Once completed, the Timbers will have the capacity to minister
to over 200 campers each week! We are excited to build this camp,
which will in turn empower us to meet the needs of all 6th –12th
grade campers more specifically!
The Timbers will also be used for various conferences and retreats serving youth and adults in the non-summer months.
The cost for the final phase of a self-sufficient Timbers Youth
Camp is $3.4
million. (PDF 67kb) Will you pray about your involvement
