Forge Speakers
Each week the students will get to hear from a keynote speakers from all over the country. Over the course of three days, Forge students get to rub shoulders with Christian leaders from a wide variety of vocations.
Class of 2012 Speakers
Rob Opitz
Rob is a partner and head of the tax department with Rylander, Clay & Opitz, LLP, a public accounting firm in Fort Worth, Texas. During his professional career, Rob has served as a tax and business advisor to a wide variety of clients with particular focus in oil and gas, real estate, professional services, and tax-exempt organizations. Rob is also actively involved in the community serving on the board of directors for several organizations in the Fort Worth area. Rob is married to his best friend, Christy, and they have two awesome kids, Reagan and Connor.
Todd Engstrom
Todd is sojourner and alien in the strange land of Texas. He grew up a Lutheran in the Pacific Northwest, fell in love with Christ through Young Life in high school, was educated by Catholics in Indiana, chased the dream of being a Chemistry Professor to THE University of Texas, and became a Reformed Baptist Pastor at The Austin Stone. He has a heart and mind for movements of multiplying disciple-makers, specifically on college campuses. He married his wife Olivia five years ago in South Bend, and they have two sons – Micah (2) and Hudson (3 months).
John Hawkins
John Hawkins, Founder and President of Leadership Edge Incorporated, helps university students and organizational leaders across America wrestle with the issue of developing a leadership lifestyle. In 2004 and 2005, John collaborated in the design and delivery of four leadership training programs for business managers, governmental leaders and emerging leaders in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. More important than any of the above, John has been married to his wife Janet for 32 years and is the father of Laura, Gary and Will. It has been in their family that John has learned the most practical lessons on leadership.
