Living Accommodations
The Forge has its very own apartment property that consists of four separate complexes. Students will be in charge of the care an d upkeep of their own facilities during the course of the program.
Food & Groceries
Each month Forge students are given a grocery & personal item stipend of approximately $150 per student per month. Students are responsible for budgeting their money, purchasing their groceries and preparing their own meals as a family. Students are not allowed to eat camp food unless they are working a weekend or attending staff chapel.
Weekends & Time Off
Students are required to work 6 weekends each semester. When not working, students are off from around 1pm on Friday until 1pm on Monday and are free to come and go as they please. During the week students must receive permission to sleep away from the houses and are not permitted to miss class unless approved by the director.
Dating, Cell Phones & other policies
Forge students will be treated like adults and, thus, will formulate their own guidelines and boundaries for discretionary items and behaviors such as dating, cell phone usage, curfew, cleanliness standards, etc. Those policies will be voted on by the entire group and given to the director for approval and ratification.
Cars & Transportation
Students are welcome to bring their own cars, however, gasoline will be the financial responsibility of the student. The Forge will provide the class with 2 high capacity vehicles and gas for those vehicles if students wish to not use their own cars.
Computers & Internet Access
Computers are welcome but the apartments will not have internet access. Internet access will be available to the students but through Pine Cove’s terms and policies. The students have their own computer lab that is located within walking distance to their apartments.
Visitation
Friends and family are welcome to visit at any time! We also welcome any prospective students to come and spend a night with the students and get a first-hand look at what life in the Forge is like. Please schedule your visit with the Forge Director.
