Forge Trips
One of the most formative experiences for any group is a trip. Travel not only provides a change of scenery and perspective, but also encounters with the unknown and unexpected. Trips are an excellent environment to learn and to practice principles of both life and leadership because they are an opportunity to learn lessons that cannot be taught in a classroom.
Throughout the 8-month program, Forge students will have the opportunity to embark on at least six trips. The trips are designed and scheduled during different times of the program to give the students a chance to work on leadership development, spiritual growth, and learning how to live in community. The trips will change from year to year based on each class that attends and what learning opportunities are necessary.
Israel Trip
One of our most important trips is our journey to the holy land of Israel in the spring of each year. For around a week Forge students get the chance to hike Israel – in some of the very places the Scriptures speak about. Whether that means walking in the field where David fought Goliath or standing in the streets of Jerusalem or praying on the Mount of Olives – Forge students will learn to read the Scriptures with fresh eyes and a new perspective.
