Club Unplugged
Our first worship CD is called Club Unplugged. Club is Pine Cove's name for the worship and teaching times at camp. Campers told us year after year how much they loved Club and wished they could experience the fun and heart-felt praise and worship at home. Our goal with Club Unplugged was simply to record Club on a CD for campers to enjoy throughout the year. We were very limited in time and resources, but, hey, you've got to start somewhere. Nevertheless, campers were thrilled and bought thousands of copies of the CD. In fact, we still sell a few each year in our camp stores.
We recorded the CD at Grace Community Church in Tyler, making a live mix using their recording equipment. About 50 campers came to provide the live crowd singing, and their names are listed in the CD packaging. Kevin East remembers that Tracy Alderson was seven months pregnant at the recording, but that didn't stop her from rockin' out on the drums.
