Sound of Salvation
Sound of Salvation marks a significant change in the format of our CD’s and the quality of the music and recording. Rather than make another CD that sounded like Club at Pine Cove, we decided to focus on simply making a great praise and worship album. After being heavily involved as the producer and a musician on the first three CD’s, Kevin East decided it was time to get some fresh talent involved. He recruited Evan Wilson and his wife Becky, both talented musicians who were on summer staff for several years. They, along with Matt Murphy and Chad Larsh, locked themselves up in the Shores gym for several weeks during the 2003-2004 Christmas break to record a CD. A number of other Pine Cove staff dropped in to record tracks for the album. Kevin even got to play the finger symbols on one song. When they emerged, they had recorded a great worship CD.
Why the name?
The title, Sound of Salvation, is a phrase from
one of the songs, All This for a King. This phrase got us
thinking. Grateful singing is the sound that salvation creates. It’s
the sound of realizing that you’ve been rescued.
