Tween Mother/Daughter (Grades 4-7)
Pine Cove invites you and your daughter to a unique conference focused on the tween years. The tween years are defined as children between the ages of 8 and 12. A tween is no longer a little child but is not quite a teenager. In our society, the tween years can be some of the most difficult for youth and their parents alike. Our speakers will help parents and tweens learn how to navigate these challenging years with peace and confidence. Our tween conferences are geared toward 4th-7th graders. However, we know each tween develops at her own pace. Therefore, if you feel your 4th grader isn't quite ready, you can still attend our K-6 conferences. Moms and their daughters will be able to focus on each other, gain some tools for this special stage of life, and grow closer to God.

About Catherine Miller
Routine is something I had to train myself to do, and I'm still not very good at it. I remember when my children were still small enough to ride in the grocery basket and I ran into a friend at the store who said to me, "Tuesday must be your day to shop." That ended my grocery shopping routine!
I don't have a favorite food. I love all kinds of foods, and my life is full of variety, too. After graduating with a BBA from Baylor University, my "jobs" have included: wife, teaching, sales, building, entrepreneur, friend, and mom. Along with my day jobs, I've engaged in sideline "businesses" of: founding First Friday Friends, leading VBS, storytelling at AWANAS, home schooling my children, orchestrating international learning excursions, gardening in the spring and pulling up dead plants by July, playing hostess to large and small groups, and, oh yes, exercising. I've even done a few triathlons. Of course, we love to support ministries that make a difference like: Young Life, PrayerCare, and marriage mentoring.
However, in the mix of all that variety, there have been several constants. I've been a believer and follower of Christ for more years than I can count. I have been married for 30 years to Tom, the smartest, kindest, funniest, handsomest, coolest guy in the universe. He makes my heart sing. I am "momma" to two of the most fabulous kids in the world, Benjamin and Elizabeth, and I finally have that third child I have longed for, my precious daughter-in-law, Claire.
God taught me several years ago that life is either short or shorter. My urgent call is to run life with Him - letting God set the pace and the course - all the days of my life. My latest God adventure has been to write the materials for First Friday Friends. The first books (Leader Guide and Girl Time Guide) are entitled, Heart to Heart: Growing Lifelong Relationships Between Mothers and Daughters.
I think following God is one of the greatest adventures in life... there is always variety and it is never, ever boring.
