About Ty Van Horn
Ty VanHorn is a worshipper and follower of Jesus Christ. He is the husband to the love of his life, Lisa, and they have been married for 23 years. He is the father of Jordan, Seth, Sydney, Alayna, Payton, Kai, Dawson and Emerson “We made six and found two” Ty says of their eight children. Ty and Lisa adopted their two youngest children through a ministry that reaches out to hurting and broken in the city of Houston. Ty is an ordained pastor with the Christian and Missionary Alliance and is the lead pastor of Northwest Bible Church in Spring, Texas. Previously the VanHorns spent 18 Years in Los Angeles, California, where he successfully planted Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Manhattan Beach. While living in Los Angeles, Ty received his MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. Pastor Ty has a passion for teaching the Word of God in a living and relevant way, knowing that it has the power to save anyone who hears it. Ty gave his life to Jesus when he was 20 years old and immediately hitched a ride to Toccoa Falls College in Georgia, to learn about Jesus. “I hitched a ride with people I didn’t know, to go to a place I’d never been, to learn about someone (Jesus) I had just met.” He attended TFC for two years and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Ty was awarded the Bobby Carter Teacher of the Year Award his senior year at TFC and also served as the senior class chaplain. The VanHorns’ first Pine Cove experience came at the invitation of Reed Livesay shortly after they made the move from California to Texas. “We were invited to come midweek for a couple of days of rest during a family camp. That week proved to be a healthy, fun and healing weekend for our family after such a significant life change.” The VanHorns have attended family camp ever since then, and God has been faithful to do great and mighty things through their time away together. Three of their older children have served on Pine Cove staff and the younger ones are all hoping to follow in their footsteps. “We are huge fans of Pine Cove’s ministry and commitment to transform the lives of people for God’s purposes and His glory. We have experienced that very thing in our lives because of our times at camp together.”
