Outback Packing List
Please pack all the camper's items in a trunk or one large container. Luggage should be under 15 inches tall so it fits under the bunk bed. Many campers like to decorate their trunks! At this age many parents (and campers!) find it helpful to put an entire day's outfit into a gallon ziplock bag labeled with the day. Same thing for theme night costumes. It makes it super clear for the camper what to wear when!
Camp is fun and includes a variety of activities, meaning you will move around a lot doing things like standing on chairs, climbing ladders, kneeling on the blob, jumping and cheering. We require appropriate clothing for camp activities to help avoid accidental exposure and/or rash burn. We want our campers and staff to focus on Jesus while at Pine Cove, not on their bodies or clothes. Our goal is to be above reproach and always aim for modesty and safety.
Clothes
- Shirts: 8 Must be loose fitting and not too tight, tank tops must have straps that are at least two fingers wide and cover all undergarments, no racer-back, see-through, ribbed, spaghetti strap tanks or crop tops (no stomach shown when arms are raised).
- Shorts: 6 Must be no shorter than knuckle length, no skirts, exercise dresses, biker/spandex shorts, butterfly-style shorts. Girls need at least one pair of athletic shorts (no buttons or zippers) to wear with their swimsuit for all water activities.
- Underwear: 10
- Socks: 10
- Pajamas: 2
- Rain jacket
- Tennis shoes: 1 Closed-toe shoes are required for most activities.
- Outfit / shoes you don't mind getting dirty / throwing away
- Dress up outfit Simple, modest outfit you would wear to church. Dresses should be at least knuckle-length, no tight-fitting rompers/jumpers, off the shoulder styles, overtly revealing backs, or spaghetti straps (straps need to be at least two fingers wide). Bralettes or bandeaus should not show. Guys should wear shorts with at least a 5” inseam.
- Theme night costumes To be worn for evening themed activities and must abide by all other dress code guidelines. Leotards and/or tutus must be worn with shorts.
Water
- Swimsuits: 2 All campers must wear shirts and shorts over swimwear to and from water activities throughout camp. For girls, a modest, one-piece swimsuit without revealing cutouts and with athletic shorts (no buttons or zippers) for all water activities. For boys, no speedos or jammers.
- Water shoes Must cover the toes and include a heel strap/cover (for instance: Crocs, Natives, etc.)

- Letters / packages All letters and packages must be in camper trunks at the start of the week. Read more on mail here.
- Over-the-door hooks These are great for hanging on the bunk and holding towels or laundry bags.
- Bunk decorations A photo from home, a cute pom-pom garland... you might want to bring some things to personalize your space. Just keep it reasonable and easy to remove!
Two-Week Camping
- A pair of khaki shorts with a brown belt OR black shorts

Theme Nights
- Sunday: Fast Food Frenzy Get ready to supersize your fun at Fast Food Frenzy! Camp turns into a combo meal of fun, teamwork, and chaos as you dress up as your favorite fast-food icons — think fries, nuggets, and milkshakes on the move. You’ll race, tag, and laugh your way through challenges that are extra crispy and totally delicious!
- Monday: Vroom Vroom Buckle up — it’s time for Vroom Vroom! Whether you’re a train conductor, a speedy car, or a lost luggage cart, tonight’s all about transportation. Rev your engines and race around camp in speedy challenges that’ll take you from zero to fun in no time! Ladies and Gentleman start your engines.
- Tuesday: Galactic Geriatrics Blast off… slowly! It’s Galactic Geriatrics, where astronauts meet retirees and walkers meet rockets. Dress as an astronaut, an old timer, or anything in between, and get ready for a night that proves adventure has no age limit!
- Wednesday: Crocodile Cove While the 8th graders experience all that the Ridge has to offer, the 6th and 7th graders will dive into the wild down under! Join us for an unforgettable lake and pool party, where the sun is shining, the water is cool, and the crocs are out! It’s sure to be a rip-roaring good time!
- Thursday: Operation Infiltration Attention, agents! Welcome to Operation Infiltration, where stealth, strategy, and teamwork are your best allies! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to throw all the dark and camo-colored clothing you can, as you sneak around the Outback with your team in order to complete a mission impossible!
- Friday: Late Night at the Outback As the week draws to a close, the party’s only just begun! Wear your Sunday best as you watch your counselor compete in crazy and wacky games!
Don’t Bring
As a general rule, if you can’t bring it to school, you shouldn’t bring it to camp.
- Phones, Tablets, Smart Glasses, or Other Electronics Camp is the perfect opportunity for everyone—counselors and campers alike—to get a break from screens! Leaving electronic devices at home allows for campers to get a chance to spend time outdoors, build connections with friends, and experience undistracted moments. But don't worry—you'll be able to use the CampLife App to communicate!
