Barrett “Burger King” Sims


Barrett developed a love for Christian camping while on summer staff at Fuge Camps from 2007-2008 and at the Pine Cove Towers from 2009-2011. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in May of 2010 with a bachelors degree in psychology and again in December of 2011 with a masters in education. He came on staff at Pine Cove as the Towers Associate Director in 2012 and held that position for three years before becoming the Ranch Director in 2015. He married his wife Kayla in August 2015 and she is on staff as the Women's Director of the Shores camp.

Austin “Hunkleberry” Ferrell
Men's Director


Austin was born and raised in Nacogdoches, Texas, and began attending Pine Cove as a Ranch camper. He graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a degree in business management. Austin's life was transformed at Pine Cove as a Young Gun in 2009. He then served on staff at the Woods family camp for four years as a counselor, work crew director, and program director. Austin was hired full-time in 2013 to be a part of Pine Cove's outdoor education program (IWS) and now is thrilled to be at the Ranch. He met his wife, Alisha or “Nice Cream,” in high school, and they have been married since August 2013. Austin and Alisha are passionate about the gospel, discipleship, investing into the lives of others, and camping ministry. They love spending time with family and friends, a good cup of coffee, laughing, and their dog, Goose.

Caroline “Rents” Reyes
Women's Director


Caroline began her time with Pine Cove as a summer staffer in 2011. In May of 2014 she graduated from Texas Christian University with a love for Horned Frog football and a degree in Theatre. She spent her post-grad summer as an assistant program director for the Ranch, and then landed her first full-time job as an Area Director in after school programming at the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Texas. After a year on staff at the BGC, she transitioned back to Pine Cove as a Retreat Specialist in 2015. Caroline loves making jokes, Broadway musicals, and coffee. She is excited to be back at the Ranch and minister to college staff and junior high campers to further His  kingdom!

Ranch Summer Staff

Around here we have a saying that "Our staff is our program." By this we mean that we place a high standard on whom we hire for our summer staff positions. The activities at camp are fun, the skits will make you laugh, and the music is loud, but it is the staff that will encourage, invest in, and model Jesus for your child. We interview thousands of college students to hire just a few hundred. Our screening process is intense and long, but worth it! We are committed to making sure your child is cared for physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
