Taylor was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. As a sophomore at the University of Tennessee, he googled "Christian summer camps", applied to the first four search results, and ended up at Pine Cove for the summer in 2008. After three months of counseling at the Ranch camp, God radically transformed his life. He has served as a Counselor, Senior Counselor, Program Director, and Associate Director at Pine Cove. Taylor is passionate about advancing the Gospel in the camp setting, building relationships with college staff and campers, and using humor to connect with those around him for God's glory. He married his high school sweetheart, Lacey, in 2011, and they've since been blessed with two daughters.

Kayla was born and raised in the great state of Tennessee, where she attended college at the University of Tennessee. She graduated with a degree in Spanish and a minor in Sociology. After hearing stories about a camp far off in Tyler, Texas called Pine Cove, she had to apply. From summers 2011 to 2013, “Chica” served on summer staff as a counselor, nanny, and Wild Woods senior counselor at the Woods. She then joined the full-time staff at the Shores in the fall of 2013 where she now serves as Women's Director. In August of 2015, Kayla married Barrett Sims, the Ranch Camp Director! Kayla loves hiking, traveling, and missions. She considers it a true joy to get to serve in a ministry where lives are changed by the power and truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Around here we have a saying that "Our staff is our program." By this we mean that we place a high standard on whom we hire for our summer staff positions. The activities at camp are fun, the skits will make you laugh, and the music is loud, but it is the staff that will encourage, invest in, and model Jesus for your child. We interview thousands of college students to hire just a few hundred. Our screening process is intense and long, but worth it! We are committed to making sure your child is cared for physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
