Our Current Financial Needs
Pine Cove Towers Cabins: The Towers Camp was originally constructed in 1971. We began rebuilding the camp three years ago and are now down to the last 10 cabins (of thirty-four cabins). Our construction deadline in December, so we need all of the money by our construction date. The cost to construct the cabins is approximately $50,000 per cabin or $100,000 per duplex. We have had donors pay for cabins, duplexes and 1/8 of a cabin (each cabin has beds for eight people, so sponsoring one eighth of the cabin) at $6,250 per bed. The total cost is $499,000; by God’s grace, we have already received $290,000 decreasing our total need for these cabins to $209,000. Our goal is to finish what we started!
General Unrestricted Giving: One of the greatest ways you can help Pine Cove is to give an unrestricted gift. The costs associated with operating Pine Cove have changed dramatically in recent years due to increases in personnel costs, medical insurance costs, utility costs and the like. Our pricing structure does not allow us to recoup all of our expenses on an annual basis. We have felt like we cannot increase our prices at the same pace of the increase of our expenses. Pine Cove needs approximately $750,000 in unrestricted giving each year.
Friends of Pine Cove: This fund allows many families to help sustain Pine Cove. You can give to the fund in general or designate your giving for an individual. In this fund are Keepers of the Cove and Keepers of the Creek.
Scholarships: This past fiscal year of 2009, Pine Cove gave away over $600,000 in scholarship funds to at-risk kids, low-income single parent families, military families, pastors and others who applied for scholarships. With the changing economy, we expect to exceed this amount during the year of 2010.
