Commission Camping

The name “Commission Camping” stems from God’s call through the Great Commission in Matthew 28. The strategy behind the Commission Camping program is to send teams throughout the world to humbly share Pine Cove’s knowledge and experience of Christian camping, hoping that the churches and existing camps with whom Pine Cove partners will, within three years, begin their own summer programs independent of Pine Cove, so that more kids around the world will hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

A partnership with Christian Camping International (CCI) in Latin America was created in order to assist in the planning of mission trips for summer staff. Pine Cove officially began the Commission Camping program in the summer of 2005 when two teams of 12 college students traveled to Costa Rica. This year Pine Cove will send 10 teams to 8 countries in Latin America. Pine Cove’s hope is to continue to strategically grow the Commission Camping program each year, impacting countries around the world for years to come.
