About Danny Lamonte

I grew up in Farmington, New Mexico with my brother and two fantastic parents, a close-knit family that loved sports, movies, vacationing, and backyard barbeques. Though blessed with a rich life, I always felt something missing deep down inside. My parents instilled in me that God did exist, an understanding of right & wrong, and we attended church on occasion. I knew about God, but didn’t know God. That all changed in my freshmen year at Liberty University when I heard and believed the gospel of Jesus.

Over the next four years of my life, I was surrounded by men who loved Jesus and to disciple young men. God used them to instill in me a hunger to know more of the gospel, a passion for communicating God’s word, and a desire to see men and women changed by the grace & love of Jesus. Over the 12 years that I attended & served at Liberty University, I worked in various roles including Resident Director and Senior Associate Director of Student Leadership.

I met my beautiful wife Lynne at Liberty and we married shortly after graduating in 2005. We are blessed with 3 biological children – Abby, Maddie, & Noah – and are also privileged to be foster parents with hope of adopting in the future. As a growing family, Pine Cove Camps and its staff have been used by God to strengthen our relationship with God and one another.

In spring of 2012, we felt a stirring in our hearts to leave the only home we had ever known and follow the Lord into full-time vocational ministry… a scary thought for someone with two business degrees and just beginning to attend Seminary. After 2 years of working in the oilfield industry at my father’s family business, in April 2014, I came on staff at Grace Community Church in Tyler, Texas as Campus Development Pastor.

My hope is to be a man, husband, father, pastor, church member, and individual in society who seeks to see the love of God with his whole being and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus in his life and, through the work of the Holy Spirit, be part of transforming the hearts, minds, and lives of others to then impact their neighbors and the world to the glory of God.
