Statement of Faith

Pine Cove is a Christian ministry committed to holding God’s Word high and proclaiming Him and His salvation. Our heart is to truly love all and want to point ALL to the forgiveness and hope we can have in the perfect life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As such, we will consistently apply all elements of our deeply held beliefs as found in our Statement of Faith and God’s Truth in our programs, activities and hiring practices. We also recognize that our campers contribute to our Christian community and the accomplishment of Pine Cove’s mission, so it’s important for them to be aware of what we believe to be God’s teaching on the following subjects.

  • We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inerrant Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
  •  We hold the Scriptures as our final authority.
  • We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He came to earth being supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  • We believe that man was created in the image of God, that man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.
  • Holding the Scriptures as our final authority, Pine Cove believes in a biblical view of sexual purity prior to marriage, faithfulness within the context of marriage, and that marriage is defined as a union between one man and one woman.
  • We believe that God creates human beings in His own image as two distinct sexes (or genders), male and female, as determined by their biological sex at birth. We believe that sex and gender are synonymous in God’s creation.
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative, substitutionary, and complete sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.
  • We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate.
  • We believe in the second imminent, visible, and personal coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to establish His worldwide kingdom on earth.
  • We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God eternally.
  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust.
  • We believe in the great commission which our Lord has given to His Church to evangelize the world and to disciple believers.

We understand that some camper guests may have different beliefs than us. Our desire is to provide a safe place for all guests to engage in a Christ-centered, others-focused and seriously fun experience and it would be a violation of our deeply held beliefs to host camp for individuals who actively contradict our core principles and distract from our mission. Therefore, we ask all of our campers while at camp to conduct themselves in a way that is consistent with what we believe to be God’s teaching on these subjects. (Our heart is for all campers to have a great experience, so in order to serve all our campers well, we have rooming policies that could impact prospective campers.)
