Full Time Staff

Chris “BroFlex” Boddy

Chris serves as the Pine Cove Woods Camp Director. He came to Pine Cove in May 2008 as the Timbers Conference Director. Before making the move back to Texas, Chris spent two years as the Dean of Men at the Kanakuk Institute in Branson, Missouri, and three years as the Area Director of K-Life in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a Business/Bible major at Wheaton College, where he played football and graduated in 2001. He met his wife, Sarah or "Banana Boat," in St. Louis, and they have two sons, a daughter, and a baby girl on the way. Chris and Sarah love ministry, and investing into the lives of others.

Austin “Bama Jama” Burch
Men's Director

Austin graduated from the University of Alabama in May of 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. He now serves as the Men's Director at the Pine Cove Woods family camp. Before joining the resident staff, Austin was on summer staff at Timbers and Camp in the City for three summers. He was also an intern for his college ministry in Tuscaloosa, where he developed a passion for discipleship and met his lovely wife, Laura Kathryn or “Hair Comes the Bride,” and they have a son named Bryan. Austin and Laura Kathryn enjoy anything athletic, being goofy and fun, having intentional conversations, and ministering to families.

Jenny “Whistle Toe” Sowers
Women's Director

Jenny Sowers is the Women's Director at the Woods family camp. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Language Arts Education and is a die-hard Sooner fan (Boomer!). While in college, she worked at the Ranch on summer staff 2006-2009. After graduation, she started on resident staff as a Registrar from 2009 to 2012 before coming to the Woods in April of 2012. Jenny loves: people, sports, traveling, all things beach and snow, and anything fun or funny. Her favorite part of her job is getting to meet so many different people and hear their stories while also making them feel welcome at camp.

Woods Summer Staff

Around here we have a saying that "Our staff is our program." By this we mean that we place a high standard on whom we hire for our summer staff position. The activities at camp are fun, the skits will make you laugh, and the music is loud, but it is the staff that will encourage, invest in, and model Jesus for your child. We interview thousands of college students to hire just a few hundred. Our screening process is intense and long, but worth it! We are committed to making sure your child is cared for physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
