Many of our current summer staff positions at camp are dedicated internships designed to fulfill the standard college internships requirements. Plus, you get paid! Additionally, many counselors and program staffers can get college credit for their roles on staff at Pine Cove! It's an amazing opportunity for hands-on learning in a fun environment. The reputation of the “Pine Cove Quality” college staff has spread. Year after year, companies in all types of industries approach Pine Cove trying to recruit our past summer staff into their internship programs and full-time positions. We are taking a proactive role in connecting these companies with our college staff that are actively looking for internships and career opportunities. Work one summer at Pine Cove and then you are eligible for our internship partnerships initiative. You'll be able to work half a summer at camp, and the other half at an internship outside of Pine Cove in your career field. We are excited about a new role for graduated high school seniors! We are no longer doing our previous program called Young Guns and Baby Ruths, but instead creating a fully integrated and paid summer staff role called Counselor in Training (CIT).
The Counselor in Training (CIT) position will offer graduated high school seniors a paid summer staff role where they can work alongside our college summer staff and be mentored by our full-time resident staff. Our desire is that as they serve together with college staff, they will develop lasting community with college students from all over the nation, many of which already attend the same universities our CIT staff will begin attending in the fall. A CIT will have the opportunity to serve in activity classes, work crew, and evening program just like our summer staff! These positions will be available at our family camps, majority of our youth camps, and our traveling off-site camps.
CITs will be required to attend staff orientation with our college staff. We recognize this will be a challenge for many school calendars and we don’t want it to discourage you from applying this summer. Although orientation is required, we can be creative and flexible to work around certain mandatory school events. Check out the dates:
