Whether you’re a student, parent, or teacher, the start of a new school year brings a mix of excitement, anticipation, and maybe a few nerves. New schedules, new classes, new teachers, and new opportunities are just around the corner. But while a lot may change from one school year to the next, one thing remains constant: God is faithful and He is with you!

As your family steps into a new season, take time to remind your kids and yourself that our hope isn’t found in a perfect school year, good grades, fitting in, or having everything figured out. Our hope is found in Christ. His Word gives us wisdom for the days ahead and reminds us who we are, Whose we are, and where to turn when life feels overwhelming.

Here are a few verses your family can keep close as you begin the school year.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” – James 1:5

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” – 1 Peter 2:9

“Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” – Proverbs 13:20

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9

Write out these verses and place them on your fridge, bathroom mirror, in the car—anywhere you’ll see them as you get ready for the new day. As your family begins another school year, don’t just pray for good grades, successful seasons, or smooth schedules. Pray for faithful hearts.

Pray that your children would know Christ more deeply, love His Word, choose friends who point them toward Him, show kindness to those who feel overlooked, and have the courage to stand firm when following Jesus is difficult.

As parents, remember that you don’t have to perfectly prepare your kids for every situation they’ll encounter. You can entrust them to the God who knows them completely and promises to be with them wherever they go.

The school year ahead may be unknown to us in some ways, but it isn’t unknown to Him. Walk into it with confidence, knowing that the same God who was faithful this summer will be faithful in every season to come. Our team is praying for you! We’re praying for a school year marked by faith, wisdom, courage, and a deeper love for Jesus.
