Crier Creek Renovations

Crier Creek, our Central Texas family camp, is getting some major renovations that will allow us to serve even more families in the future! With a waitlist of 98 families in 2019 there’s a great need for expansion. Thanks to the generosity of our Crier Creek families and other friends of Pine Cove, the dining hall, girl staff cabin, and meeting room will all be under construction this year. Here is a quick overview on this big project.

White Tail Lodge (the dining hall) is being renovated in honor of Vicki “Mama Mia” George, who for years served Crier Creek and made White Tail Lodge a true place of hospitality! The floor space will be increased so that more families can be added in the future, and the orientation of the dining hall will be changed for better flow and service (can you say more space for skits?!). The original floors will be refinished in the dining area, keeping the nostalgia while providing a much-needed update.

What many people are most excited for is the kitchen! Square footage will be added so that the kitchen can finally be a fully-functional, commercial cooking kitchen. In the past, cooks and work crew needed to go outside to use the large coolers, freezers, and storage… but not anymore!  

New doorways will be added, as well as a few updates to the outside of the building, including putting on a new roof and repainting the exterior. 

Along with the construction on the dining hall, a new girls staff cabin is currently being built! It will give our staff semi-private sleeping quarters as well as a gathering space for meetings and prayer.

In the next few months, the meeting room, Big Horn, will also be expanded to include more bathrooms and a coffee shop!
