New 2020 Full-Time Camp Staff

by Anna Birch

four full time staff compilation

Throughout this spring, we will be introducing a few of our brand-new full-time staff members! Find out where they come from, some of their favorite things, and what about their roles has them most excited.

And make sure to say “hi” when you see them at camp this summer!

Nikki-Headshot-Spring2020

Nikki “Willy Wonky” Germenis: Nikki “Willy Wonky” Germenis is the new Women’s Director at the Ridge! A Woods family camper and former Shores summer staffer, she got her camp name from eating a Nerds Rope candy out of a trash can at camp… plus her knees are a little “wonky” after seven knee surgeries. Nikki has loved camp for as long as she can remember and is so excited to get to cultivate and facilitate not only a really fun week for campers, but a place where staff and campers experience Jesus more intimately!

EJ “Pops” Hibbler: EJ “Pops” Hibbler isn’t new to full-time staff, but he is new to the role of Associate Director at the Ridge! Having spent several years as a Central Texas Site Director for Pine Cove City, he says he’s ecstatic to see Jesus bring those who seem far close to His throne of grace. EJ’s camp name comes from his obsession with candy and a fireworks experience gone wrong. Even though he’s terrified of heights, he’s been skydiving twice! EJ can’t wait to see how high he can jump for campers arriving on property!

Marshall_Wallace_Headshot_2020

Marshall “Swole City” Wallace: This Oklahoman somehow ended up calling Texas home as the new Men’s Director at Crier Creek. A fan of all things sports-related, he is thrilled to hear about the deep-rooted tradition of pickle ball at the Creek! Marshall worked on summer staff at the Timbers for three summers and has spent the past year as a student of Pine Cove’s leadership and discipleship program, The Forge. Pine Cove has played such a paramount role in his spiritual growth and he is so excited to pour into the lives of college staff year-round!

Mitch-Hartt-2019

Mitch “Wildabeast” Hartt: Mitch “Wildabeast” Hartt is taking on the new role of Regional Director for Pine Cove City in East Texas! Formerly the Ranch’s Men’s Director, he has had plenty of camping experience—even going back to his Young Gun days! He has worked at the Outback, Woods, and was a Strawboss for a summer. His camp name comes from his Young Guns nickname of “Ox” combined with his experience of being in Africa for half a summer. He can’t wait for the opportunity to lead a team in ministry and to dive into church partnerships!

Antonio-MambasBoy-Wright-2020-FPO

Antonio “Mamba’s Boy” Wright: Working the last few summers with Pine Cove City, Antonio “Mamba’s Boy” Wright is now on full-time staff as a Central Texas City Site Director! Born in Louisiana but raised in Houston, he got his name because of (you guessed it!) his love for his mama, and because he is a huge fan of Kobe Bryant (aka “The Black Mamba”). Antonio is pumped that his role allows him to shepherd and lead God’s people. He also can’t wait to see his summer staffers begin to disciple others outside of the camp setting as they go back to their campuses, cities, and even overseas!

JD_Moore_Headshot_2020

JD “Ramses is the Bus” Moore: JD “Ramses is the Bus” Moore is the new Ranch Men’s Director! He has a rather unconventional story of coming to work full time. He was a lifelong camper (since he was five weeks old!) and his wife, Alli, worked at camp during college, but JD was a bit too busy to work during college. He played football at LSU and then became a Kansas City Chief for a year! Pine Cove has had a deep impact on his spiritual journey, and he is so excited to be able to turn around and pour into the lives of staffers and campers in the same way he was poured into!

Tatum_Roan_Headshot_2020

Tatum “Baloo” Roan: Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Tatum “Baloo” Roan went to Texas A&M and worked at the Outback for three summers during college, and is now the Outback Women’s Director. Part of her camp name comes from a hilarious story of her older brothers convincing her that her parents only wanted two kids—and her parents went along with the prank! It wasn’t until she had packed up all her things that they told her it was a joke! As she thinks about her new role, she is really excited to walk through life alongside and disciple college students year round.

Bryan_Brown_Headshot_2020

Bryan “Matha” Brown: A Lubbock native and Texas Tech graduate, Bryan “Matha” Brown, worked at both the Outback and Ridge during his college years. He now gets to serve as the Ridge Men’s Director! He says his greatest athletic accomplishment was getting to guard the NFL and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes in a high school basketball game. Bryan loves camp ministry and is honored for the part he gets to play in it all as college students are used to transform lives for God’s glory and how they will be equipped to do it for the rest of their lives!

insidethecove%2Fnew_full_time_staff_leah_crum

Leah “Smax” Crum: If you’ve been around Crier Creek the past few summers, you’ve probably made a quick friend in Leah! After graduating from Purdue, Leah completed the Pine Cove Forge program as a part of the class of 2019. She spent last summer serving on staff at Crier Creek for her fourth summer. This past fall, she became Crier Creek’s Women’s Director! She has loved learning her new role the past several months and the opportunities that have come through recruiting and preparing for summer!

Tyler-Wilhelm-2019_cokbdc

Tyler “Yo Yo Mahi Mahi” Wilhelm: Tyler used to be a competitive yo-yo player (which explains the camp name), but now spends his time pouring into college staff and campers as a new ETX Pine Cove City Site Director! Having worked for City for four summers, Tyler knows the impact this ministry can have on the local church, and believes the local church is the vehicle that God is going to use to bring His message of redemption to the world. Tyler is so excited to travel to different churches with his team all summer long!

18SH_Ellie_LunarToons_Buchanan-FPO_lwodf3

Ellie “Lunar Toons” Buchanan: Even though she wasn’t born in Texas (Philadelphia… how fun!), Ellie considers herself to be from Dallas and graduated from Baylor! After working at the Shores for several summers, she’s ready to launch into this new season as the brand-new Women’s Director at the Ranch! She’s excited about the relationships that she will form because of camp, as well as getting to witness campers’ deep friendships, all pointing to the Lord.

Trent-McClure-FPO_ozrzgf

Trent “UGA” McClure: A Georgia native, Trent spent his summers working at the Timbers and now makes the Southeast Region his home as a new Site Director for Pine Cove City! Trent is a big fan of Starbucks and Lululemon, but something he is even more pumped about is his new job. Trent can’t wait to watch his staff and campers fall deeper in love with the Lord, as well as see many campers come to know Christ for the very first time!

David “Fumblerooski” Hall and Connor “Mt. Brolympus” Gulledge have also joined camp full-time teams in the past few months… check out David’s profile blog here and look for Connor’s coming soon!
