If your camper loved Springs Pro last summer, get ready—this summer is bringing even more adventure, new spaces, and exciting opportunities for campers to experience life transformation through the Gospel!

Springs Pro was created specifically for 8th–12th grade campers, and this year marks a huge step forward as the program continues to grow. Designed with older campers in mind, it offers a space that gives them more independence while still experiencing everything that makes Pine Cove special.

As summer gets closer, we hear from Ben “Digs” Gasaway, the Springs and Springs Pro Director, and Austin “Homestar” Langemier, Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives. They share exciting updates on what’s new at camp this year, what campers can look forward to, and specific ways we can be praying for staff, the property, and the ministry that will take place at camp this summer.

Last summer, Springs Pro campers had their own schedule and programming while still sharing much of the same property as younger campers. This year, that changes. Austin said, “Not only is the schedule separated, but the campus is separated. You’re literally on your own peninsula with your own cabins and your own campground.” He explained that while last summer gave Pro campers a unique schedule, this year gives them a truly unique environment too—one intentionally designed for older campers to have the best experience at camp.

This summer, campers will get to enjoy several exciting new additions around the camp property!

According to Ben, one of the most anticipated additions is a brand-new beach area called The Bend. “The Bend is gonna have lots of new inflatables, stand-up paddle boards (SUPs), and yard games,” Ben said. It’s designed to be a hangout space for campers to relax, connect, and enjoy fun outdoor activities.

Campers can also look forward to a brand-new slide called The Falls, named after waterfalls in North Georgia. Ben shared that the new slide is one of the features he’s especially excited about, describing it as an awesome new way for campers to slide directly into the lake.

Another major addition is The Summit, a new activity hub that will include an indoor gym, game rooms, worship space, camp offices, and the camp store! With incredible views and plenty of new opportunities for serious fun and connection, The Summit is sure to become a central hub of energy and excitement around camp.

A new sports field, Wheelin’s Landing, is also ready for action. Ben explained that the field was named in honor of the Springs’ first camp director, Caleb “Wheelin’ and Dealin’”, and will host activities like Onewheel competitions, theme nights, and Friday Turkey Bowl games featuring the seniors vs. leadership! Of course, campers can still expect to find their favorite activities like boats, wake surfing, fishing, kayaking, and the slick track.

While the new spaces are exciting, both Ben and Austin emphasized that Springs Pro is about much more than new additions and construction updates.

This summer’s theme for the Springs and Springs Pro is “Peace With God,” based on Romans 5:1: “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Ben shared that the full-time team has been praying over this theme for months. He said, “Every time I go to property, I walk around Springs Pro and pray specifically that God’s peace would overwhelm and encourage the hearts of our campers, our staff, and the families that come.”

The hope is that campers would not only have serious fun, but also deeply experience the peace found in Christ.

One of the most unique parts of Springs Pro is that it combines everything Pine Cove campers know and love with a setting unlike anywhere else. Ben described it this way: “It really is Pine Cove—with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background.” Located in the foothills of North Georgia near Lake Hartwell, Springs Pro is expanding Pine Cove’s mission across the Southeast while maintaining the same Christ-centered, others-focused, seriously fun culture.

Ben also shared how special it has been to watch Pine Cove’s presence grow in the Southeast over the past several years, with families and staff now coming from Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.

As Springs Pro prepares for staff training and the start of summer, here are a few specific ways to pray:

Pray for staff to arrive with eager, humble, and excited hearts ready to serve. Pray for wisdom and diligence as staff learn new activities, spaces, and safety procedures. Ben specifically asked for prayer that staff would come ready both to work hard and to share the Gospel well.

Pray that campers would experience God’s peace and life transformation through the Gospel. Pray over the new buildings and property spaces—that they would be places where campers encounter Christ for years to come.

Pray for rain to help fill Lake Louise and for favorable weather as construction teams finish buildings and final projects.

The Springs Pro team has been hard at work preparing for what promises to be an unforgettable summer! We can’t wait to see all that God will do in the lives of campers and staff at our newest camp property soon!
