This month we asked our staff to share their favorite books with us! From fun fiction reads to biblical resources, they did not disappoint us with their responses. Take a stroll through this virtual library and find a couple new books to add to your shelf!

It’s so hard to pick a favorite! I read “A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23” this summer and I learned so much from it! I’m also re-reading “The Hunger Games” series right now. I forgot how good it is! – Kylie ‘Bonsho’ Witcher, Silverado Women’s Director

My favorite book is probably “Everybody Always” by Bob Goff or “The Chronicles of Narnia!” – Caroline ‘Volly’ Coon, Chimney Point Women’s Director

The book of James. It’s a good reminder of striving harder to be who Jesus called me to be!  – Heather ‘Manila Ice’ Solesby, Regional Staff Support Manager

Besides the Bible, “The Lord of the Rings” for fiction and “Mere Christianity” for nonfiction.  – Daniel ‘Gigabite’ David, Business Analyst

Currently my favorite book is “You Gotta Keep Dancing” by Tim Hansel. Some other good ones are “You Are Special” by Max Lucado (I love reading this around the holidays for some reason) and “Tuesdays with Morrie!” – Mattie ‘Blast’ Stewart, Registrar

I’m not a huge reader, but I do like the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series.  – Colton ‘Apacheezin’ Crow, Associate Director of Retail

“The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” by Mark Twain.  – Kolby ‘Bye Bye Mr. American Pie’ Friday, Silverado Men’s Director

“Lead” by Paul David Tripp. – TJ ‘Philly’ Connor, Senior Director of Ministries – CTX

“The Pilgrim’s Progress” by John Bunyan. – Faith ‘Flora’ Courville, Risk & Safety Coordinator

My favorite book would be “Where the Crawdads Sing!” Much better than the movie in my opinion.  – Madeline ‘Snugs’ James, Camper Acquisition Manager – CTX

Favorite book is a HARD one! There are so many! If I had to go with a Christian life type of book I would say “Knowing God” by J.I. Packer or “Life Together” by Bonhoeffer. As far as “just for fun” reading, I would go with “The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland” by Jim DeFede. It’s an incredible true story of how a town in Canada took care of hundreds of displaced travelers when planes had to land on 9/11 and reminds me of the power of humanity coming together to care for people in times of need and fear. – Ashley ‘Banana Pudding’ Upchurch, Recruiting & Staff Support Generalist

“Extreme Ownership” by Jocko Willink.  – David ‘Fumblerooski’ Hall, Silverado Camp Director

“In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day” by Mark Batterson.  – JD ‘Rambus’ Moore, Ranch Camp Director

My favorite book has to be “Harry Potter!” I never read the series growing up, but I finally decided to last fall. I could not put them down. – Annelise ‘Smilin’ Morrison, Silverado Associate Director

“The Warrior” by Francine Rivers. – Tim ‘Swanee’ Alderson, Global Director of Horsemanship

“The Insanity of God” by Gregg Lewis and Nik Ripken. – Eric ‘Floor Mapnarok’ Kearney, Maintenance Tech

“The Advantage” by Patrick Lencioni and “The Chronicles of Narnia” by C.S. Lewis. – Jeff ‘Rawhide’ Olchesky, Chief Operating Officer

“To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee.  – Kat ‘Chief’ McDaniel, Executive Assistant to the ETX Leadership

Genuinely, my favorite book is the Bible.  – Rob ‘Change Up’ Harris, Director of Accounting
