Thank You From Our Campers!

Saying “Thank You” for your donation to the McKenzie Scholarship Fund doesn’t seem sufficient! You supported deserving kids and families who needed financial assistance to come to camp, which enabled them to be at Pine Cove this summer and hear the Gospel. As you read the following thank you notes and messages of gratitude, you’ll notice many different themes, like how our campers feel undeserving of the scholarships they received, how kids felt loved at Pine Cove, and how they learned big lessons about God. All of this was made possible by the incredible generosity of our ministry supporters! The name of the Lord was proclaimed at camp this summer, and these campers were there to hear it because of you.

“I cannot even begin to thank you for making Pine Cove possible for me and our youngest three kids this year. They have come through a season of two years where “no” was the answer for pretty much anything they wanted that they didn’t actually NEED, and I can’t imagine how devastated they would’ve been had we had to take Pine Cove off the table. Our 14-year-old was crying her eyes out as we pulled out of camp, heartbroken the week was over. Every single one of them said it was the ‘best week of their life.’ Once again, thank you.” – 12th Grade Camper Mom

“I don’t think I can properly articulate how impactful Pine Cove overnight camp has been for our boys and family. My husband, their dad, is a first responder. He is a very involved dad but works so hard for our family to stay afloat and function. His chaotic work schedule and stress of the job can often interfere with us living a ‘normal’ life. Sometimes being a kid of a first responder can just be hard. I love that my kids come to Pine Cove and get a week to be a carefree kid. They are not filled with worry. I love that they get to be around other male Christian role models and watch how they lead and speak to others. I wanted to share from my mom-heart and say thank you again for making it possible for our boys to return to camp this summer.” – 7th Grade Camper Mom

“What a blessing last week was for Cathryn! She had a week of just unplugging from all the yuck going on in life right now and was given a chance to be a kid, hear from the Lord, and build some godly friendships! She kept talking about how loved she felt – how totally accepted and affirmed all through the week. I prayed all week that God would meet Cathryn there personally, and show her that she was loved.
