The Clubhouse: Jesus is Present

We’re toward the end of the year, which means the world of Spotify Wrapped and Apple Music Replay (for all the real ones out there) is about to show us our top music from 2025! 

Looking back over my recap, it’s easy to see how my music reflects what I’ve experienced, felt, or walked through this year. What (or who) we listen to has a powerful impact on our thoughts and emotions!

The disciples of Jesus learned this in an unforgettable way. The disciples—with Jesus—board a small boat in Mark 4. Jesus says to them, “Let us go across to the other side” (verse 35). As the story goes on, wind and waves crash into the boat, filling it up with water! 

Their conversation with Jesus goes like this:

“They woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” Mark 4:38-41

Jesus Christ himself is our peace in the midst of a chaotic world. His very voice has the authority to calm a raging storm. The disciples transferred their fear—from terror of the storm to an awe of Jesus. 

Recognize that Jesus is present with you. That He wants to speak to you. Today. He loves you, and desires that His presence leads you to a fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11).
