“Everything shame tries to say about me
God you would never believe
I know the blood of the covenant echoes
Your every thought about me
If ever I falter, forget who I am
Remind me the place where you stand
You’re my intercessor, My High Priest forever
Jesus, You’re praying for me”
Hello Pine Cove! This is Taco Bell, Shores Men’s Director!
Think about the obstacles and challenges of life you may be facing right now—at school, work, home, in relationships, through temptation, emotional struggles, physical things, your spiritual life. What feelings do these challenges cause within you: confusion, hurt, embarrassment, shame, sadness, anger?
Whatever it may be for you, these things increase in weightiness and difficulty when we feel like we’re doing it alone.
Isolation can quickly cause our endurance to wither, but God wants to inject hope into us through what He makes clear in the Scriptures about Jesus Christ and what He is doing for you and I even now:
Hebrews 7:25 “Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, since he always lives to intercede for them.”
Romans 8:34 “Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died–more than that, who was raised–who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.”
To intercede is to act on behalf of another. It is to pray for someone else.
These verses tell us that Jesus stands at the right hand of God, the place of immediate access and ultimate authority, and what He is CURRENTLY DOING is praying for those who come to Him!
So often, we can lose endurance because the obstacles we face can feel immovable.
We’re strengthened by getting a clear vision through the Word of where Jesus is and what He is doing on our behalf. He wants to take the weight off of you to endure on your own whatever may be in front of you, with the knowledge that the only one who can make a difference knows, is near to you, and is praying for you.
Draw near to Him.
