Training Week 2025

With opening day just around the corner, each and every one of our camps is alive with energy and anticipation! Our incredible summer staff are finally here and have spent time spread across the grounds deep into Training Week as they prepare for the season ahead. From lifeguards and high ropes specialists to media pros, cooks, and boaties, each staffer is learning the ropes (some, quite literally!) and sharpening their skills to serve campers with excellence all summer long!

In addition to prepping and trailblazing camp for the summer, staffers have also been trailblazing a path for the summer spiritually! From lifeguard training to learning new photo editing software, each staffer is hard at work ensuring that camp and every activity we offer is ready for your camper to arrive and enjoy the best week of the summer! Whether it’s blowing up the blob, pumping up the mountain bike tires, or organizing the friendship bracelet beads and materials, our staff has got you covered.

Training week also brought one of our favorite camp traditions: the NAME GAME! Each staffer is given up to seven minutes onstage to answer the zaniest, most clever, or most heartfelt questions, and after those seven minutes (give or take a few), that staffer is given their official camp name! It’s a Pine Cove tradition that we cherish each summer, so stay tuned to hear some of this summer’s craziest camp names and the stories behind them!

Meet the fluffiest new staffers at Pine Cove! Silverado, the Springs, and the Towers are welcoming some four-legged friends to join the fun this summer. Campers will get to spend time in a special activity class playing with the puppies, cuddling them, and of course, giving out plenty of ear and belly rubs. It’s paws-itively the best way to make new friends!

Before the campers arrive, the connections begin! As staffers from all over come together, this week is all about building friendships that just might last a lifetime. Whether it’s a spirited game of pickleball or a quiet moment of prayer on the dock, the Pine Cove family is growing once again (and WE LOVE IT)!

The joy is real and the teamwork is strong, and camp is ready for another incredible summer of ministry and serious fun! We’re so encouraged watching our staffers come together with energy and excitement as they prepare for this summer.
