Training Week Recap 2026

Training week is about more than just learning job responsibilities—it’s also when camp gets fully prepped for opening day. Staffers have been hard at work tackling projects all over camp property, from setting up new inflatables on the water to painting backdrops for theme nights and helping get every corner of camp ready to welcome campers. No task is too small when it comes to preparing for summer!

One staff training tradition everyone looks forward to is the Name Game! Throughout the week, new staffers share funny stories and unique facts as they help come up with camp names that are equal parts personal, fun, memorable, and ridiculous. 

As opening day gets closer, every Pine Cove property is full of energy as summer staffers arrive for training week! Across camp, staff are jumping into role-specific training and learning everything they need to know before campers arrive. From lifeguards and wranglers to media teams and high ropes staff, everyone is hard at work preparing for a summer of serious (and safe) fun! 

Even in the middle of a busy and exhausting training week, our staffers know how to have some serious FUN! Whether it’s a back-flip contest, competitive pickleball match, late-night laughs, or gathering to have a dance party under the disco ball, training week is already creating meaningful memories before campers even arrive! 

In the middle of all the excitement and busyness of training week, summer staffers have made time to slow down and prepare their hearts for the summer ahead. Through worship, quiet time, and praying with and for one another, staff are being reminded of the bigger purpose behind camp and getting ready to pour out their lives so life change can happen in the lives of campers this summer!
