Winter Nights is Pine Cove’s first-ever Christmas album! Our desire is that this album would invite our campers, friends, and other listeners in to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ with us in a fresh, authentic, and fun way. Come sing along with us as we proclaim the arrival of our King with such classics as “Oh Holy Night,” “The First Noel,” and “I Heard the Bells.”
We invited some of our camp summer staff members to help us make this album, and it’s their voices that you hear! We hope that this will create an environment that reminds you of singing your heart out at club, while also drawing you to the throne to worship. The songs on this album are a diverse mix of some classic bright and jazzy carols, as well as more worshipful, reflective tunes. So hit play, start decorating your Christmas tree, and join us in praising our newborn Savior!
We’ve uploaded The First Noel to SoundCloud for you to listen to and download for free. Enjoy.
Seth “Bassically” PennSeth Penn is a freelance record producer, bassist, programmer, and songwriter living and working in Nashville, TN. He worked at Pine Cove Towers the summer of 2009 as a lifeguard, sound engineer, and bass player in the worship band. Seth produced the last Pine Cove worship record, “Summer Lights,” and produces and writes with all kinds of artists. Seth is a part of the music team at Crosspoint Community Church, and is passionate about the ever-growing worship culture in Nashville. Seth also graduated from Belmont University in 2011 with a degree in Music Business Production and has a background in music and recording arts.
Gretchen “I’m Soul Fresh” Horton
Gretchen Horton is currently a senior at the University of Kentucky studying Family Science, with a minor in Communications. She worked at Pine Cove Woods for the summer of 2014 as a worship leader. Upon graduation, she desires to attend graduate school in pursuit of a Social Work Master’s degree. After receiving this education, she aspires to become an Adoptions counselor, where she can achieve her goal of connecting orphans with a forever family. Additionally, Gretchen is a worship leader at Southland Christian Church in Danville, Kentucky. She has led worship for the past six years, and is going to continue using her voice however God chooses. Gretchen is intentionally investing in the lives around her to build His kingdom through her involvement in ministry with both her professional career involvements and music.
Corey “Songitary Combfinement” Kilgannon
Corey worked at the Pine Cove Timbers summer 2013 and 2014. Over the last couple years Corey has done an extensive amount of house shows all over the United States, which allows him to share his songs and his stories in an intimate environment. Whether he plays with a full band – like he did on his release tour for The Hollow – or by himself, Corey’s charisma and candidness shine. Through these shows he has built lasting relationships with people who are all able to connect with his music. Music is something that has the potential to have a profound impact on listeners and can bring hope to a seemingly hopeless situation. For Corey that is what music is about. Corey’s music oftentimes focuses on hope in the midst of despair. Life has its ups and downs, and writing songs is Corey’s way of sifting through all those emotions.
