2021 Recruiting Roundup

It should come as no surprise that we love our Christ-centered, others-focused, and seriously fun summer staff. Our camp teams have spent the past two months travelling to Nebraska, Georgia, Kentucky, Alabama, and the expanses of Texas (to name a few) to meet and interview potential new staff. With a goal of almost 2,000 total staff needed, and after roughly 1,200 interviews, we are super pleased to announce that we have already hired 1,010 college students for next summer! 

But we’re not focused on the numbers here. We are focused on meeting with college students at tailgates, student union buildings, former staffers’ homes, and coffee shops for a chance to get to know who they know God to be and how He’s transforming their lives. Our camp teams have the unique opportunity to sit down with those nearly 1,200 college students and minister to them in those moments. There is usually laughter, sometimes a few tears, but always an opportunity to pray over each student before they walk away. What a gift! 

Last month Silverado Director Austin “Homestar Runner” Langemeier even had the chance to catch up with one of his former staffer’s parents! With tear-filled eyes, her parents told him how thankful they were for the impact Pine Cove had on her life. Their daughter had worked for Austin for three summers and is now working at a PR firm in the Dallas area. After extensive interviews, her now employer said that her responses regarding her time at camp (versus a prestigious internship) were the “difference maker” in the decision to hire her. This is what we’re about.
