Shores Women's Director
Kayla was born and raised in the great state of Tennessee, where she attended college at the University of Tennessee. She graduated with a degree in Spanish and a minor in Sociology. After hearing stories about a camp far off in Tyler, Texas called Pine Cove, she had to apply. From summers 2011 to 2013, "Chica" served on summer staff as a counselor, nanny, and Wild Woods senior counselor at the Woods. She then joined the full-time staff at the Shores in the fall of 2013 where she now serves as Women's Director. In August of 2015, Kayla married Barrett Sims, the Ranch Camp Director! Kayla loves hiking, traveling, and missions. She considers it a true joy to get to serve in a ministry where lives are changed by the power and truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
