MomLife Boot Camp 2014

On the opening night of MomLife Boot Camp, I prayed for great weather. In my mind that meant sunny and 75 degrees, but the Lord is much more creative. He sent a storm and then an amazing rainbow to remind us of His promise and His faithfulness.

For the past three years, Pine Cove has had the opportunity to partner with MomLife Today to put on a life-changing event called MomLife Boot Camp. We had over 400 moms at every age and every stage from across the country come together at Pine Cove’s Shores and Bluffs camps. It was a weekend to get away and enjoy fellowship, rest, and encouragement. On Friday night, the moms got to watch a special preview of the movie Mom’s Night Out (release May 2014) that had the entire gym laughing. We were blessed to hear the testimony of actor, writer, and producer, Andrea Logan White.

Throughout the weekend, we heard from speakers who are passionate about encouraging women through the truth of scripture. Big thanks to Robyn McKelvy, Susan Merrill, and Barbara Reiney for speaking truth and investing in our campers lives. The women also got to attend breakout sessions on a variety of topics like adoption, foster parenting, and marriage, to name a few.

Sometimes moms just need to let loose and dance a little, right?

On top of some amazing speakers, these ladies had the opportunity to zip line, ride horses, and even join in on a Saturday night dance party! But this weekend was more than just a time for moms to have fun and experience camp; it was a time to experience God. Women left with their lives changed for eternity. Many left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and encouraged to go back home and love their families. What a blessing it is to get to be a part of weekends like this that the Lord uses to advance His kingdom.

For those that were able to attend, we loved having you and pray it was a great time to break away and get some time with other moms laughing, crying, and taking in the blessings that being a mom brings!
