Favorite Camp Names 2026

“NAME GAME, gimme that name, I want that name!” If you’ve spent even five minutes at camp this summer, there’s a good chance you’ve already met staffers with some seriously unique camp names. One of the best Pine Cove traditions during training and orientation is watching brand-new staffers stand on stage, share their funniest stories, weirdest habits, and most embarrassing moments, and somehow walk away with a name that fits them perfectly.

Some names come from childhood nicknames, some come from completely chaotic stories, and some honestly make less sense the longer you think about them. Either way, the Name Game absolutely delivered again this summer, and we rounded up a few of the camp names we’re still laughing about.

• At the Bluffs, we had a girl who loves chicken tenders and will genuinely eat them anywhere. She also shared a story about getting into a fender bender just one week after getting her driver’s license—in her high school parking lot. Her name? Chicken Tender Fender Bender!
• At the Timbers, we had a girl who once ran over her dog (don’t worry—the dog is okay!). She drove off not realizing what had happened, and later told another story about accidentally sitting on her pet cat when she was five (it didn’t make it). From those two very different situations—“sit” and “hit and run”—she became Sit and Run.
• At the Towers, we had a girl who loves horses and movies, and growing up she was always comforted at night when her parents read bedtime stories or sang lullabies. Her name? Flicka Flicka Little Star!
