Meditate on Love!

Some consider February to be “Love Month!” As Christ followers, there’s nothing we love more than glorifying the Author of love! To help you meditate on Christ’s love throughout this month, we’ve compiled 29 verses to meditate on—one for each day of the month! We pray that this blesses you as you daily seek to introduce other people to where true, unconditional love is found. Enjoy meditating on the list below, or download a photo for your home screen.

  1. Romans 8:38-39 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  2. Mark 12:33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.
  3. Exodus 34:6-7 The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.
  4. Ephesians 5:1-2 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
  5. 1 John 4:10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
  6. Ephesians 2:4-5 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
  7. Romans 12:9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 
  8. Leviticus 19:34 You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
  9. Proverbs 3:3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
  10. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
  11. 1 Corinthians 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
  12. 1 John 3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
  13. Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
  14. Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
  15. Jeremiah 9:24 But let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.
  16.  Psalm 103:11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him.
  17. 1 John 4:8 – Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
  18. Psalm 143:8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
  19. 1 John 4:16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
  20. John 15:12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
  21. Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
  22. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
  23. Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
  24. 2 Timothy 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
  25. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
  26. 1 Corinthians 13:6-7 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
  27. Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
  28. Ephesians 3:17-18 I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ
  29. Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works… encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
