After Joshua finished his final summer at the Shores, he was inspired to write a letter to us about his experiences! We loved it so much we wanted to share it with you in video form. Want to read Joshua’s letter instead? Check it out below!

Dear Pine Cove,

I started coming to Pine Cove the summer after fifth grade. After that first week at camp, I was in love with Pine Cove, and my heart was set on fire for Christ.

I told my parents how cool my counselor, BankShot, was, how much I had learned, and how my relationship with God grew stronger than it was before. After enough begging, they agreed to send me back again, this time for the two-week program, and I was so ecstatic. I made some of the greatest memories with my cabin-mates from those two weeks and I still talk to a lot to them.

I think my greatest memory at Pine Cove was at the Ranch. Me and my cabin mates all had our arms around each other during club. We were praising God, and I truly felt what it meant to be brothers in Christ. I’ll never forget that. It was the moment that really inspired me to love others and lead people in Christ.

To anyone reading this that might be on the fence about coming to camp or sending their kids, I have a simple answer: do it. Just like they say on their website, Pine Cove is Christ-centered, others-focused, and seriously fun! They hire counselors that are on fire for God, are knowledgeable in the Word, and care more about the needs of their campers than their own.

I’ve never had more fun, made more friends, or praised God more anywhere else. It’s an experience of a lifetime, and one that has made me a better Christian and a better person. Thank you Pine Cove for the memories, the love, and the community you have provided me for the past 7 years. I can’t imagine my life without them.

Sincerely,

Joshua
