Halloween will be here before we know it, bringing with it a whirlwind of creativity, candy, and costumes! Who could forget those unforgettable Halloween nights when we transformed into our favorite characters and creatures… and loaded up on CANDY! Come with us on a trip down memory lane as our staff shares the Halloween costumes they’re most proud of!

In third grade I was a piece of gum stuck to a shoe. So I basically wore all pink and taped a shoe to my headband. I thought it was the best idea ever…. Looking back, my mom was probably pretty upset I didn’t wear the Sleeping Beauty dress she bought me! – Annelise “Smilin’” Morrison, Silverado Camp Director

I’ve always loved dressing up in costumes inspired by movies! Some of my favorites were Sandy from “Grease,” Rose from “Titanic,” and Holly Golightly from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” – Valerie “Ouch Potato” Morby, Social Media and Copy Manager

I was Darius the Mede for a church biblical character dress-up night as a little kid, but I didn’t understand who he was so I went around telling everyone I was Darius the Mean. And then growling at them. – Jesse “Schmoe” Garner, Sr. Director of Engagement

I was a wildberry Pop-Tart when I was eight years old. I don’t have any photos of it, but I do have the Halloween pictures from when I was younger! – Drake “OJ Drift” Carson, Cloud Platform Admin

When I was 10 I dressed up as a present! My mom cut holes for my arms and head out of a big box and we wrapped it up. I also put fun bows in my hair. It was a perfect costume for the cold Nebraska winters because I could bundle up under it! – Abby “Tater Squat” Muñoz, Associate Director of Development Communication

My grandma was a great seamstress and made so many dresses for me. One Halloween, she made a Dorothy costume for me – so that is a special memory for me! – Faith “Tumbledore” Banford, Media Specialist

I was a cow one year! – Laura “Christmas with the Crocs” Largent, Recruiting Project Support

“When I was about five or six I always wanted to be a USA cheerleader because my dad was in the Army. But then, when I got to middle school, I apparently moved on to more intense things like pirates and witches…” – Karissa “Yikes” Pitaniello, Content Coordinator
