Summer 2025’s Craziest Camp Names

“NAME GAME, gimme that name, I want that name!” If the cheer hasn’t already been stuck in your head, it will be now as we reflect on all the singing and dancing we’ve done to it around camp as new staffers were receiving their camp names! Since way back in 1967, every staffer has been given a one-of-a-kind name that’s not just hilarious, but also opens the door for deeper connections and intentionality with their campers.

We pulled together a few standout favorites from this summer’s name game lineup just for you. You might even bump into one of them out on the dock or in the dining hall!

To kick things off, here are a few names with top-tier stories that had us cracking up!

• • Our camp director Ben “Digs” Gasaway is known for quoting 2 Corinthians 2:15, which describes believers as being a fragrant aroma of Christ. We were trying to name a guy who has an abnormally large cologne collection, and has broken a lot of toes. His name? Fragrant Atoema
  • She said if she could “Ratatouille” any celebrity, she would control John Cena, whose catchphrase is “You can’t see me!” She also loves to play Mario Kart as Yoshi. Her name? You Can’t Yoshi Me
  • His favorite minion from Despicable Me is Kevin and He LOVES (seriously) the movie Cars (#KACHOW). So we mixed it all together and got… KACHEVIN!
  • She is from Los Angeles, California and she told us an embarrassing story of her being in her school’s dining hall where she ended up dropping a glass plate in front of everyone. Her name? Dropped Off a Plate at LAX
  • She went on a school field trip to Disney World and on the It’s a Small World water ride, she dropped her phone into the river. She then had to make everyone from her group (50+ people) wait until the park closed to get it out of the river. She also swam in college and her fastest event was 50 yards freestyle. Her name? Splash 50 Yard Dash
  • One of our videographers runs A LOT (like 75 miles per week), and when asked his favorite running shoes, he said Nike Ultrafly shoes. He is a film major at NYU and wants to be a movie director after graduation. His name? Ultrafly Movie Guy
