The Clubhouse: Be With Jesus

Hello Pine Cove! Shores Camp Director, Mr. Polar Behr, here! I’m excited to be sharing what the Lord has done in my heart recently.

Being recognized by something is important to all of us. My question for us:  “What are you recognized by?”

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13

Peter and John have been arrested for preaching the Gospel of Jesus. Peter and John cannot help but share the truth. Am I bold to share Jesus and talk about His greatness even in awkward/unwanted moments?

Peter and John were bold because they experienced Jesus and believed in who He is! Peter and John had deep roots in Jesus. Are my roots deep in Christ? If we don’t have these things then the fear of man will be overbearing. Boldness will follow the deep roots established in Jesus.

We also see how the council noticed that Peter and John were common men. How encouraging is this! The Lord uses common men and women to do mighty things for His glory! What is stopping you from being bold for Jesus? Is it because you feel common? That is what God desires!

The last thing that sticks out to me: “And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” The council couldn’t help but recognize that they had been with Jesus. Can the same be said about us? To be recognized by Jesus we must spend time with Him. When you do this, your life will be marked by Him. We can walk with Him in every moment of our life. He will make us more like Him.

Be bold. Spend time with Him.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What has your time with Jesus looked like?
  2. What does it look like to be bold for Jesus in your everyday life?
  3. Do people recognize that you have spent time with Jesus? Why or why not?
