2020 Pine Cove Gift Guide

by Pine Cove

Christmas Tree

Let’s face it: this has been a crazy year, and gift-giving can be stressful. Let us take some stress off your plate and share our third annual Gift Guide with you! This list is filled with tons of recommendations from our summer and full-time staff. Whether you’re shopping for your teenage daughter or father-in-law, we’ve got you covered. And remember: some of the best gifts can be the ones we don’t spend any money on at all! Spending quality time with your loved ones this holiday season (even if it’s over Zoom!) is an awesome way to reflect and cherish all the things the Lord has done this year. Regardless of how you choose to celebrate one another, we hope you cherish your community and create lasting memories.

1. Howler Hats
Look familiar? These snapbacks were one of our biggest trends of the summer! With a variety of styles and colors, these hats are a perfect closet staple.

2. Go Rings
These dainty and timeless accessories are the perfect way to elevate any outfit! Plus, Go Rings is an awesome company that partners with fundraisers around the globe. A win-win for everyone!

3. Nike High Top Blazers
Check out these shoes that put a modern spin on a retro sneaker. Nike High Top Blazers were a huge hit among our staff this summer. Be sure to snag a pair this holiday season!

4. Dad and Kid Matching Socks
The perfect stocking stuffer both parents and kids will love—guaranteed! From tie-dye to Disney, there is a perfect sock combo for everyone!

5. Pine Cove Sweatshirt
Do you miss walking through the camp store on closing day and picking out some of your favorite Pine Cove merch? Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. This cozy sweatshirt will keep you warm this winter and let you rep Pine Cove from the couch!

6. Blue Light Glasses
Let’s be honest: 2020 has been filled with staring at a ton of screens. Grab a pair of these blue light glasses and skip the headache!

1. Gentle and Lowly
Gentle and Lowly comes highly recommended from our staff, who say, “This is the best book that I have read this year so far. It has impacted the way I love my neighbor and worship God.”

2. One Line a Day Journal
A great way to keep you on track to journal every day this year! Only one line a day? We’ve all got time for that!

3. Strand Book Store Subscription
Books being delivered to your doorstep? Yes, this is real and no, you’re not dreaming! Sign up for a Strand Book Store Subscription and pick what kind of books and how often you want them to be delivered!

4. Get Out of Your Head
A great book for teen girls and moms. Jennie Allen is the real deal and helps people walk through the mental health issues that matter today!

5. The Promises of God Storybook Bible
*Cue the tears* This children’s Bible offers such a great perspective and uses simple language to explain some complex theology. It also has some incredible artwork!

6. Magnolia Cookbook
We’ll all be cooking more over the holidays, so The Magnolia Cookbook is a great gift for the culinary-inclined person in your life!

7. The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry
In the midst of a hurried world and work environment, The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry dives into the importance of and practical steps to follow the pace of Jesus.

1. Essential Oil Diffuser
Soothing. Calming. Comforting. Give someone the gift of all those things with an essential oil diffuser! There are tons of great options out there—we like this one

2. LED Room Lights
We’re all at home a lot more these days, so we might as well make it a little more fun! These rockin’ lights will brighten up any room, and we’re big fans of the color-changing feature.

3. Himalayan Salt Lamp
Our summer staffers have been leveling up their decor game with these awesome Himalayan salt lamps! Slightly dimmer than a normal lamp, these give a super chill glow to any room.

4. Hand Drawn Map
You shall not pass… this suggestion without reading it! If you have a fantasy fan in your life, this “Lord of the Rings”-inspired map of Texas (or one of many other locations) will make the perfect gift!

5. Homesick Candle
What’s a better scent for a candle than HOME? From Hawaii to the United Kingdom (and almost everywhere in between), you’re sure to find the perfect one for anyone on your list!

6. Sherpa Backrest Pillow
Whether you’re catching up on your reading or settling in for some puzzle time, this incredibly soft pillow is here for you! Bonus: pair it with a Pine Cove sherpa blanket to take the comfort level up to a thousand.

1. KOPI Mug
This self-heating mug is perfect for the busy mom who keeps forgetting about her coffee, the college student who needs caffeine for an all-nighter, or really anyone who just likes to slowly sip on their coffee throughout the day!

2. Electric S’mores Maker
You don’t need a firepit or even the great outdoors to make a s’more anymore! This electric s’more maker would be a great gift for any chocolate-lover.

3. Bodem Milk Frother
Skip the long line at the coffee shop! Make homemade coffee drinks that will look and taste super fancy with this milk frother.

4. Misto
The Misto takes any cooking oil or citrus juice and converts it into a spray. (So fun, right?!) Another thing we love about this product: it looks awesome!

5. Camp Store Mug
Imagine sitting around the Christmas tree, sipping coffee (or a favorite warm drink) from one of these camp mugs. Talk about relaxing! Everyone RAVES about these. Also comes in black

6. Snacks
Sometimes the best gift is the gift of a yummy snack. Our staff can’t stop talking about DOTS pretzels, Sweet Tart Ropes, and Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. Grab one or two of these treats for stocking stuffers or put together a boxful as a “finals survival kit” for a college student in your life!

1. Desktop Tetherball Kit
Have you ever been sitting at your desk and thought, “Man, I wish I could be at camp playing tetherball right now?” Well, now you can take a quick break and enjoy a little competition right at your desk with this game

2. Collapsible Corn Hole
We love a good game of cornhole around here, and this collapsible set is perfect for travel and even playing indoors. Snag a set for some serious fun!

3. Code Names
Give the gift of a game night as each team takes turns giving hints for and guessing their designated code words. If you’re looking for a family game for older kids, Code Names should be on your list!

The hottest game for kids is The Floor is Lava! This activity is a super fun way to get little ones up and moving—and it can be played outside OR inside.

4. Just Dance
Imagine a Pine Cove dining hall FULL of campers and staff all laughing and doing the same dance moves. It’s the most fun—and it’s Just Dance, which we put up on the big screen! Give the gift of a Pine Cove dance, no console required.

5. Family Photography Session
Everyone could use some new family photos! Gift a session with a photographer to someone on your list. It’s thoughtful, personal, and they’ll remember it for years to come!

6. DIY Kits on Etsy
The most out-of-the-box gift idea we have for you this Christmas: DIY (Do It Yourself) Kits! With almost endless options (we love the Scrunchie Kit, Garden Kit, Painting Canvas Kit, and the Solar Printing Photo Kit!), it will be easy to find the perfect one to fuel someone’s hobby.
