Camp in the City Barbershop

A few Instagram posts from a barber in Indiana recently caught our eye. After doing a little digging, we discovered Todd Burnett (known as @thefoxbarber on Instagram), is a family friend of Trevor “Bonko” Mullikin. Bonko is the site director for Camp in the City Team Delta. 

Todd’s daughter Lillie or “Cheese Fitz” is a staffer on Bonko’s team, so when the team was at a church in Nashville a few weeks ago, Todd decided to make the journey from Evansville, Indiana to visit them. A barber by trade and the owner of “The Fox Barber and Grooming Lounge,” Bonko asked if Todd would be up for any haircuts for some of the guys while he was visiting. 

Since our guy staffers often need haircuts to keep them looking sharp throughout the summer, several were eager to let Todd get to work!

In my career as a barber, I’ve always said that the haircut is just a small piece to me. The greatest reason I barber is the building connection with the guys I give haircuts too. It’s having one on one time to hear their stories and get to know the true authentic them. Another part is just serving when there is a need. Yesterday I had the privilege of going to Nashville and spending the day serving these young men who are serving and mentoring and feed into the lives of children this summer. I got to hear their stories. Men from all different places and backgrounds, coming together serving others and sharing their love for Jesus.
