If you had the opportunity to swing through the Shores this past summer, you undoubtedly noticed a beautiful, brand-new building located just above the turf field! With awesome views of the whole camp (not to mention the sparkling waters of Lake Palestine!), the Mahalo is the perfect spot to kick back and take it all in.

So what’s this cool new building for? We’re so glad you asked! During the summer, the Mahalo houses 64 Overflow campers (32 girls and 32 guys on separate ends of the building). These two-week campers are thrilled to have their own dedicated space where they can relax, hang out, and study God’s word together.

So it sits empty during the rest of the year? Great question, but: nope! Starting at the end of August, our Forge students will be able to use this space to live and learn together during their eight-month leadership program. The Mahalo is equipped not only with living quarters for students, but also with a kitchen, dining area, a classroom area, and lots of hangout space!

We’re so excited and blessed to see this incredible building come to fruition. It’s something we’ve spent a long time planning and praying for, and we’re so grateful to the Lord and all of the generous supporters who helped make the Mahalo a reality.

Check out some photos of our new building below, and join us in praising God for providing this awesome new space where ministry will take place for years to come.
