Fall comes with football, pumpkin-flavored everything, and, in the Pine Cove world, recruiting! Our full-time team is busy traveling across the country to find the best staffers for Summer 2025. All of that travel pairs perfectly with road trip games! Read below to find your new favorite, and try it the next time you’re in the car!
Hide the Thimble! You hide an imaginary thimble ANYWHERE in the real world or fiction world (movie, book, tv show, etc.), and the car asks yes or no questions until they find it. – Kristen “Sherpa” Ray, Forge Administrative Assistant
The alphabet game and name that tune are typically our top go-to games! – Breanne “Girl on Fire” Jacobs, Director – CEO Office
Outback’s favorite road trip games are dream concerts. You pick your two openers and main singer, then cue a song that… starts with an a, has a color in it, etc., and play a song that reminds you of… high school prom, studying for an exam, etc. – Kate “Bones” Swanner, Outback Women’s Director
My childhood: the alphabet game and “My Cows,” With my kids: Eye Spy. Adulthood: Farkle, 20 questions, trivia. – JD “Rambus” Moore, Ranch Camp Director
A few weeks ago, the Ridge team (plus Will Dorris) was headed back from Auburn, and we all did the New York Times crossword puzzle for the day at the same time! It was really fun to test our knowledge as a group, and it made the beginning of the drive honestly fly by! It’s for sure something we will keep doing in the future! – Colin “Sneaky Pete” Post, Ridge Men’s Director
I love to play “My Cows” when on the road! – Josiah “Stonk” Dombach, Towers Men’s Director
I’m always down for any and all movie games! A good one is for someone to start by saying the title of a movie. The next person either says an actor who appears in that movie, or another movie that shares a word with the original title. If someone replies with an actor, the next player says another movie that person was in. For example: ‘Homeward Bound’ to Michael J. Fox to ‘Back to the Future’ to Christopher Lloyd to ‘Clue’ to ‘Get a Clue!’ It’s a blast if you can find other cinephiles to play with—and makes the time pass by so much more quickly! – Valerie “Ouch Potato” Morby, Social Media and Copy Manager
Twenty Questions is a classic, and it doesn’t even have to be constrained to a car! I recommend playing it with a nice Red Bull and a bag of Flaming Hot Munchies chips (or sunflower seeds). – Conor “Flow” Barry, Ridge Camp Director
We have trivia cards that we play in the Towers van! Everything from American history to pop culture! We quiz each other while we road trip! – Chloe “Risk It” McGrath, Towers Girls Camp Director
It’s not a game per se, but we’ve been loving taking our Yoto Mini on road trips! The kids can listen to stories and songs without needing a screen, and they have control over what they listen to by changing out cards themselves. Plus you can connect headphones when needed! – Jesse “Schmoe” Garner, Senior Director of Engagement
