Top Eight Questions We Get About Family Camp

by Lea Rittenhouse

Family Hugging at Camp

Family camp is the best kind of camp! But because it’s a little outside of what most people think of when they think of camp, we get a number of questions. Here’s a list of questions (and answers, because we’re nice) we commonly get.

1. What are the differences between the four family camps?

The biggest difference between the four family camps is the location. The Bluffs and Woods are in Tyler, Texas, Crier Creek is located in Columbus, Texas, and Chimney Point is in Westminster, South Carolina. We have the same great staff and programming at each location!

Woods

  • Around 40 families
  • Small lake on property for fishing, canoeing, and more
  • Original Pine Cove property

Bluffs

  • 30 families
  • Overlooks Lake Palestine
  • Newly remodeled cabins
  • Jumping pillow

Crier Creek

  • 27 families
  • Two bodies of water on property for fishing, canoeing, and more
  • Wake park for wakeboarding and tubing

Chimney Point

  • 25 families
  • Located on Lake Hartwell
  • Newest family camp location

2. Can I register and fill out my forms online?

To register for family camp or get on a waiting list you will need to call our office at 877-474-6326. Once you are registered you will be able to fill out your required forms online.

3. What does a daily schedule look like at family camp?

At family camp, we strive to offer a balance of rest and quality time for the parents, activities and awesome programming for the kids, and solid, intentional family fun together! Check out our camp specific pages to see what a typical day at camp might look like!

4. How old do your kids have to be to enjoy camp?

Family camp is for campers of all ages. We have counselors ready to be intentional with each age group of campers from the infant to adult.

5. Do we share a cabin with another family?

At family camp you might share a porch or common area, but all of our families have their own private cabins. The accommodations of our cabins vary between locations, but all cabins have a queen size bed for the parents, bunk beds for the kids, and bathroom facilities. Don’t worry, we also have pack-n-plays available for your littlest ones so you have one less thing to bring from home!

6. What is covered in the cost of camp?

The cost of family is all-inclusive, so it covers lodging, food and activities, however; there are optional amenities that require additional money such as: the golf outing for men, arts and crafts, camp store purchases, and the coffee shop.

7. What are theme nights? Do adults participate?

Theme nights are a great way to create fun and promote unity in families. Each night, the staff and families will dress up according to the themes established for each camp. You’ll find the list of theme nights here.

8. What if the week I want is full?

If the preferred week you’d like to register for this summer is full, we recommend you add your family to a wait list and we will contact you if an opening becomes available. There is no cost to adding your family to a wait list.

There you have it—the most common questions we get about family camp! Do you have a question we didn’t cover? Give us a call at 877-474-6326. We would love to talk you to!
