We love a good game night any day of the year, but the holiday season definitely brings out some of the best nights for board games. After feasting with your family and friends—and after the football games—nothing quite brings the group together (or shows everyone’s true colors) like a competitive game of Catch Phrase. Maybe […]

We search high and low every year to find the best college students to work on Pine Cove summer staff. Our camp teams travel to universities all over the nation to interview thousands of applicants each year. In 2018, we hired 1800 college students to work at camp, and we’ve grown every year since Pine […]

At camp, we love costumes. Give us any excuse to dress up, and we are all in! Whether we are dressing up to be in a skit, to perform a birthday rap, or to participate in a theme night, we love going all out in the costume department. This summer, we had some hilarious theme […]

If we had to choose a favorite season of the year, it would 100% be summer, for obvious reasons! But fall comes in a close second place. There’s a lot to love about the lower temperatures, the changing leaves, and of course, the football. Our camp teams spend a lot of the fall out on […]

Editor’s Note Want to see how the finished product turned out? We’ve got completed construction photos here! The Azalea cabins have been a fixture at the Woods since 1968. It probably won’t surprise you to find out that staff meetings at Pine Cove typically include some sort of “seriously fun” element. For example, Chapel in East Texas always starts out with some friendly competition, that usually borders on ridiculous. “A game with a twist,” they often say. Some of you may have seen examples […]

For summer 2018, we hired around 1,800 summer staff across all of our camps and regions. They come from colleges all over the nation, and though they’re all here for the same thing—to serve the Lord and to serve campers—we often talk about the schools with the most representatives in a bit of friendly competition. […]

At Pine Cove, we are literally in the ministry of retreats. We encourage everyone to come and get away from their normal everyday lives, and spend some time with the Lord in the great outdoors. We believe in this so strongly that we even practice retreating ourselves! Over the past month, all of our regions […]

IWS: In Their Own Words

IWS_Canoe_itfkv8

Pine Cove’s Outdoor Education program, the Institute of Wilderness Studies (IWS) quickly becomes an annual favorite for teachers who bring their schools out for overnight field trips. The hands-on science classes (TEKS-based) are top notch, the staff is excellent (and seriously fun!), and the facilities are fabulous. We gathered some of our favorite quotes from […]

Ridge%2FOvernight-Camp-Ridge-Wakepark-Photoshoot-2018

Summer 2018 marked the first summer we officially had a just-for-high-schoolers camp in Central Texas, and what a summer it was! Our Central Texas teams worked crazy hard to finish all the final details to make this camp excellent and (of course) seriously fun! We had a Ridge dedication ceremony during staff orientation, and we […]
